Biography : 

Professor of Management Information Systems at the Centre for Business in Society, Coventry University (UK), and Visiting Research Scholar at the Department of Communication, Culture & Technology of Georgetown University (USA). His research focuses on the relationships between people and technology, with particular emphasis on cyber security management and data-driven innovation.

His background in Computer Science was complemented by a PhD in Information Systems and Knowledge Management from Cranfield University. This socio-technical understanding of information technologies and information systems has enabled a focus on the wider challenges of data, information and knowledge management in organisations and society.

Dr. Garcia-Perez is a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and member of the executive committee of the International Association for Knowledge Management (IAKM). He is also academic member of the Warwickshire Cyber Crime Task and Finish Group, member of the Advisory Board of the Future Aluminium Forum, and member of the Special Interest Group on Knowledge Management at the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIST). Dr. Garcia-Perez is co-editor of the Emerald book series Working Methods for Knowledge Management, and member of the editorial board of different international journals.
